JORGE GONZALEz | Costume Design

Since his university days, everything in the life of Cuban-born Jorge Gonzalez has revolved around fashion.

After studying in Bratislava he went to Hamburg and quickly made a name for himself in Germany, Europe’s largest fashion market. He was hired for important campaigns and worked with internationally recognised designers and brands, among them Vivienne Westwood, Isabell Kristensen, Laura Biagotti, threeASFOUR, Kai Kühne and Bénédí Couture. His projects took him to the most important fashion capitals – Paris, Milan, Monaco, New York and London.

In the spring of 2011 Jorge produced his first complete collection: »Chicas Walk presented by bonprix«. It was so successful that it sold out in three weeks. Further success and adoration followed at the Berlin Fashion Week, where the contestants from the TV show »Germany’s next Topmodel by Heidi Klum« presented his Spring 2012 Collection.

Jorge’s fashion journey has taken him halfway around the world. Even while studying nuclear ecology in Bratislava, he spent time in Prague establishing links with the fashion industry, working as a model and stylist, and later as a choreographer and organiser of fashion shows (among others for the presidential Havel family).

In his role as catwalk trainer and choreographer on Heidi Klum’s TV show »Germany’s next Topmodel« the audience adores him, and he is about to start helping the 2012 batch of contestants (his »chicas«, as he calls them) get ready for the catwalk. He also works as a stylist and image consultant for various celebrities, and advises big brands on their communication strategies.

Jorge Gonzalez, who as a child dreamed of becoming a dancer, is delighted to combine his two passions for fashion and dance by designing the costumes for Ballet Revolución.
